Captain Mark on his VHF radioLifetime Member of the Friends of Fort Macon, a financial Donor to Bonehenge Whale Center, and,  a member of the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort where the company has become part of the "Signature Site" at the waterfront courtyard located on the Museum's Gallants Channel site, Captain Mark is a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain, approved to take any boat up to 100 gross tons out 100 nautical miles (115 miles) from our coast.  The H2O Captain boat has been examined by the U. S. Coast Guard and shows their Annual Decal on the boat as proof, along with our National Park Service Decal on our windshield.  Our Captain, along with his 1st Mate, Lucky the dog,  are available for charters 6 days per week,  March through January!

Captain Mark serves in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Department of Homeland Security, as the Immediate Past Flotilla Commander.  The waters that he cruises in are in his area of responsibility. In addition, he is a USCG Aux Certified Instructor as well as a Certified Vessel Examiner for recreational vessels up to 65 feet.  In addition, he is an Admissions Partner for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT and Captain Mark participates in the USCG Mariner Outreach System to give assistance in the event of a national emergency or sealift crisis.

Captain Mark is the creator, producer, writer, and voice of the public service announcements, Boating Safety Minute heard throughout the season on FM107.1, AM1240, & FM92.9, which is presented by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Additionally, Captain Mark has taught sailing on Long Island Sound, NY, and in the State of Vermont, has participated in many regattas, and is also an expert whitewater kayaker where he has boated from Canada to Chile, with two first descents to his name, and from the Atlantic Ocean to kayaking The Grand Canyon 3 times!!!

Lastly, Captain Mark is the Chief Entertainment Officer at the nationwide Mark Sonder Productions Entertainment Agency, a published author, speaker, as well as a Life Master Bridge Player where he was part of the winning 2017 North American Bridge Tournament Compact Stratified Knockout Champion Team!

Adventure Awaits!  H2O Captain is authorized by the National Park Service to have both boat and guided land excursions to The Cape Lookout National Seashore which includes seeing the wild horses and great shelling on Shackleford Banks, our most popular excursion.  Captain Mark looks forward to serving you in 2022 at the 3-way intersection of Fun, Safe, and Educational.
